If you're reading this, thinking of doing your divorce self-help, then this post is for you. I was doing the same thing, simply to avoid paying for an attorney. It all backfired on me, especially since I was listed as the respondent and not the petitioner. The petitioner is in the driver's seat and the respondent is the passenger. You can't get your divorce finalized if you're the passenger and not in control of the vehicle. This is all a metaphor I'm using.
